We need a shelf

We knew we needed a shelf above the kitchen window as soon as we cut the hole. After I put up a basic shelf above the window in the man cave in an hour I decided to go for the kitchen one.Two lengths of local hardwood, not knowing how sustainably sourced it was as nobody knew :/ The longest lengths of wood at the local shops is 4m, so no extra prep needed. Meet my mate Stanley! First time using the miter saw with more than zero degrees. Cut up a leftover length of Ulin from the school room. Fast and precise, doubled up the angle cut for quick and stylish uprights. The man cave shelf went up in ten minutes, resting on top of the window frame and supported by 300kg breaking strain kitesurf kite line, so eeeeasy! This one not so :/Ani helped support the end and I had to set up a pulley to lift it into place then Ani held the rope while I drilled and secured the uprights from the outside with big bolts, the main weight is held by the window frame, the bolts hold it in place but I tied some kite line to the container tie downs too …… just in case.
